Bloubergstrand (Cape Town)
The Cape Doctor lands here first: a thermally reinforced SE that runs 15-35 kt from November to March, inside a 500 m crescent bay sheltered by rocks, with Table Mountain across the water. Busy at weekends - go downwind of the rocks.

Melkbos Beach (Melkbosstrand)
Ten minutes up the beach and far more exposed. Summer SW-SSE at 15-25 kt meets more swell than the city beaches, which is why it is the wave and big-air day of the trip. Advanced water.

Yzerfontein
First stop up the West Coast and a calmer alternative to the Cape Doctor setups: a long sandy beach that works on SW and NW, with hollow left waves when the swell shows up.

Langebaan Main Beach
The lagoon day, and the one everyone remembers. Wide sandy entry, shallow sandbars for progression and flat water behind the island, on the same S/SE thermal that powers the coast.

Paternoster
A West Coast fishing village with cold, clean water and a flat-to-small bay made for freeride and downwinders. Ride the SW/NW window: SE turns offshore and gusty here.

Days 8-9
Baboon Point (Elands Bay)
Finish on the long left point. Cross-offshore E wind over fast, peeling sections makes this the down-the-line day - a world-class wave, and advanced only.

Is the Wavind trip planner free?
Yes. The Free plan includes assistant and trip planner messages, the full spot database, and multi-model forecasts. Pro raises the AI limits and adds unlimited saved views and custom spots. No credit card is needed to start.
Which sports can it plan for?
Kitesurfing, wing foiling, windsurfing, surfing and snowkiting. Tell it the sport and level and the stops, reasons and session scoring adapt to what you ride.
Where do the spots come from?
From the Wavind spot database - thousands of spots worldwide, researched and cross-referenced across multiple wind and surf sources. The planner picks real spots, and can add custom map stops for beaches, stays or ferry points that are not Wavind spots yet.
Does it plan around the forecast?
Stops inside the forecast window show multi-model wind, swell, tide and temperature, with every hour scored for your sport. For dates further out, planning uses each spot’s best seasons, typical wind directions and conditions instead.
Can I change the plan after it is generated?
Yes. Ask the trip assistant to add or remove stops, spread the trip across more days, reorder it, or add a rest day - each change is applied and saved immediately. You can also drag stops between days in the editor.
Can I share the trip with the people I am travelling with?
Yes. Share a read-only link that works without a Wavind account, print a paper itinerary with a packing checklist, or let someone save their own editable copy.
How is this different from asking a chatbot to plan a kitesurf trip?
A general chatbot writes plausible-sounding places with no conditions data behind them and no way to check the wind. Wavind plans from its own spot database, attaches live multi-model forecasts to each stop, orders the route on a map, and keeps the trip as something you can edit, share and print.
